LFC Women’s Team Win over NCUSC The Langley FC women won their first game of the season last night 1-0 vs NCUSC City Slickers. It was a back and forth affair with each team having their fair share of possession. The City Slickers had a few chances to score early, but Langley weathered the storm and in the 75th minute Devon Mason drilled a free kick into the back of the net for the victory. Coach Steven Duffy remarked "whoever gets the first goal is going to win this one" and the visitors made good on his vision by getting that goal. Langley were in trouble early as their injury depleted squad was dealt another blow as Sam Slack came off early with an injury. With the injury situation Langley was able to offer some game time to two U17 Metro players. Dayle Jeras and Chelsey Lal both played a huge part in the victory. After helping their Metro team win 6-0 over Vancouver in the morning they put aside their homework and played a full game for the women in the evening.

The LFC Flames U-14 Gold team wins bronze medal at provincials The LFC Flames U-14 Gold team competed in the Provincials this past week and after a very competitive series came home with a Bronze medal. These young ladies should be proud of their accomplishment as they played the top teams in B.C. and won three out of four games allowing only a single goal to be scored on them. Although the weather was hot, the competition strong, and a lot of the team playing with injuries, these 16 ladies played exceptional soccer from the first whistle to the last. Well done Flames! The LFC is proud of you!
